Start with 999 on a calculator and use the digits 1 to 9 once each to bring the total down as close to 1 as you can.

Now, you can use any function (add, subtract, multiply or divide) and any of the numbers:
1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9
(but you can only use a number once).
The idea is to reduce 999 down to 1.
