Make your own
This kind of ‘problem solving’ is very valuable. It is even more useful when children have the confidence to create their own problems.
Now, ask your child to secretly think of a number and to create a set of statements… can you work out what number they are thinking of?
You can make this more challenging by encouraging them to use other number facts, such as: “the number is a multiple of 3”, or “the number has more tens than ones.”
