The Greatest Product
Roll a dice to fill in a 3-digit by 1-digit multiplication, and try to make the biggest product to win a point.
Each player draws an empty multiplication problem like this:
NEXT
You take it in turns to roll the dice.
Each player must write the dice number in one of their boxes.
Repeat this four times until all of the boxes are full.
Then, each player multiplies the top 3-digit number by the single digit.
The one with the largest answer (the product) wins a point.
Play five times to see who is the champion!
As a further activity, you could challenge them to rearrange the digits to see if a larger product could be created. If you rolled the numbers 1, 2, 3 and 4, which of these options would give the greatest product?
